Art Curriculum
Art is a crucial part of students’ education and critical thinking skills. At The International School of Choueifat – Erbil, we pay special attention to creative and artistic education, and for the last few years, we have witnessed a great leap in the quality and the authenticity of the artworks produced by our talented students.
Our Art Department offers students from KG to Grade 8 a carefully structured curriculum that takes them gradually through the basics of art knowledge and through the tools, techniques, and applications of international art movements and artists.
The primary goal of the method is to nurture the students’ creative thinking skills in an experimental and fun manner, supported with academic books created by the long-time experienced Academic Development Department at the SABIS® Headquarters.
Art Exhibition
Each year, the Art Department organizes an Art Exhibition in ISC-Erbil that aims to showcase the talents of all students and share their outstanding creative artworks.
Art & Fashion
The Art Department, in collaboration with “Little Stars, Big Talents,” organizes an annual fashion show event, which uses some of the students’ creations in art classes and SLO clubs throughout the academic year to create fashion and household items decorated with digital copies of their artworks. Part of the revenues goes to support children with special needs and health issues, in line with the slogan “One child’s artwork could be another child’s hope.”
Art Club
Since 2017, the Art Department, in collaboration with the SABIS® SLO, created the Art Club where students who join in can learn extra-curricular practices such as graphic design, calligraphy, illustration, fashion design, and more. The Art Club is a wide creative space for our students to explore hidden talents and take them to a whole new level!
